golden means

I have often wondered about the idea of the golden means of perfect proportion in my work. Over time I have come to realize that finding the right composition is the first step in completing good work. Good art cannot always be the product of a happy creative accident that somehow comes to be in existence, but is often times the end result of a carefully organized process. In my opinion not matter what technical skills you may have, whether it be in the fields of sculpture, painting, photography, etc., if you are not creating something from a visually exciting source, the work will not turn out well. I believe that is what is being stressed in this exercise. In using the golden means as a catalyst for good compositional studies, I think I will be able to begin to take better photos.
